Commissions
A commissioned piece is a collaboration, a way to create something deeply personal, site-specific, and made with your space, story, and aesthetic in mind.
My encaustic paintings are layered with beeswax, pigment, shellac burn, texture, and movement. Each piece has its own atmosphere: earthy, luminous, organic, and quietly bold. If you’re drawn to my work but are looking for a specific size, palette, feeling, or connection to a place, a commission may be a beautiful fit. How the Process Works
1. Share a Little About What You’re Imagining
To begin, fill out the short inquiry form below. You don’t need to have everything figured out. A general sense of size, colors, space, or mood is enough to get started.
You might be thinking about a piece for a living room, entryway, office, bedroom, or another meaningful space. You may already know the dimensions you need, or you may simply know that a wall feels like it’s waiting for something special.
2. We’ll Schedule an Informational Conversation
After I receive your inquiry, I’ll reach out to schedule a brief informational call. This is a relaxed conversation where we’ll talk through your space, your vision, timing, budget, and whether a commission feels like the right fit.
There is no pressure to commit during this call. It’s simply a chance for us to explore the idea together.
3. We’ll Clarify the Direction
If we decide to move forward, we’ll discuss the overall direction for the piece, including size, palette, mood, placement, and any inspiration you’d like me to consider. This may include photos of your space, favorite works from my portfolio, colors you love, or elements you’re hoping to avoid.
Because encaustic painting is an intuitive and layered process, the final piece will not be a copy of another work. Instead, I’ll use our conversation as a creative foundation while allowing the materials, texture, heat, and movement to guide the painting.
4. Reserve Your Commission
Once we’ve agreed on the size, direction, timeline, and pricing, a 50% deposit reserves your place in my studio schedule and allows me to begin creating your piece.
The remaining balance is due upon completion, before pickup, local delivery, or shipping.
Because each commission is created specifically for you, deposits are non-refundable once work has begun. The second 50% is due upon completion and delivery of your piece.
5. I’ll Create Your Piece
Once your commission is reserved, I’ll begin creating your artwork. Commission timelines vary depending on size, complexity, and my current studio schedule.
As the piece develops, I may share occasional progress updates from the studio. Encaustic painting is a layered, responsive process, so the work evolves through heat, texture, color, and movement.
6. Pickup, Delivery, or Shipping
Once your piece is complete and the remaining balance has been paid, we’ll coordinate pickup, local delivery, or shipping. I’ll make sure your artwork is carefully prepared, so it arrives safely and is ready to live in its new space.
