Want to try encaustic painting with a few friends, plan a creative celebration, or do something a little different with your team? I offer private, small-group encaustic workshops in my Lake Forest Park studio for adults and teens ages 12+.
My workshops are relaxed, welcoming, and hands-on, with plenty of individual guidance but no expectation that everyone make the same thing. You’ll explore encaustic techniques, experiment with beautiful materials, and follow your own creative ideas.
Rather than offering classes on a set calendar, I schedule workshops directly with each group. Browse the workshop options below, then send me an inquiry with a little information about your group and a few dates or timeframes that might work.
Most workshops are $100 per person with a $400 minimum private booking. Sessions run for 2-3 hours depending on content. Adult workshops can accommodate up to 6 participants; teen/pre-teen workshops can accommodate up to 4.
All materials are included.

Introduction to Encaustic Painting
Explore the magic of encaustic painting in this hands-on introductory workshop. You’ll learn how to work with warm beeswax, resin, pigment, texture, and heat as you build layered, luminous artwork.
No painting experience is needed. I’ll guide you step by step while leaving plenty of room to experiment, play, and follow your creative instincts. We’ll aim to create three pieces during our time together.

No prior encaustic or collage experience is needed. I’ll guide you through techniques for embedding materials into wax while leaving plenty of room to experiment and play. We’ll aim to create three pieces.

Ghosts & Fairies: Mystical Collage & Encaustics
Step into a world of mystery and a little bit of magic. In this hands-on encaustic collage workshop, you’ll combine vintage and found imagery, texture, pigment, and warm beeswax to create ethereal artwork inspired by ghosts, fairies, and the fantastical.
I’ll guide you through techniques for layering and embedding imagery in wax while leaving plenty of room to experiment. No encaustic or collage experience is needed. We’ll aim to create two pieces.

Snowy Day Encaustic Ornaments
Celebrate the season with an encaustic workshop inspired by snowy days. We’ll make one-of-a-kind ornaments using warm beeswax, pigment, texture, paper, and other mixed-media materials.
No encaustic experience is needed. I’ll demonstrate techniques and guide you step by step. You’ll leave with four finished ornaments ready to hang or give as gifts.

Create a vision for what you want to welcome into your life through encaustic collage. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll use imagery, words, paper, texture, pigment, and warm beeswax to create layered artwork inspired by your own intentions.
Think of it as part collage, part creative intention-setting, and entirely your own. No experience is needed. I’ll guide you through the techniques while leaving plenty of room for experimentation.

Plan a Private Workshop
Have a workshop in mind? Or do you have a group of people you’d like to bring together for some creative play? Tell me a little about your group and what you're looking for. Private workshops are great for friends, birthdays and celebrations, family gatherings, creative get-togethers, and small corporate or team events. You don't need to have a date completely figured out. Send me a few possibilities or a general timeframe, and I'll get back to you about availability.
